Cynthia VanDeVoorde Hall

A native of Sebastian and a graduate of Vero Beach High School, Cynthia V. Hall practices in the areas of estate planning, contracts, trust and estate administration (probate), Medicaid and VA benefits planning, patent preparation and prosecution, trademark preparation and prosecution, copyright,  trade secret counseling, real estate transactions including closings and title insurance, contracts, including leases, prenuptial agreements, contracts for sale of assets, contracts for sale of businesses, and other small business and property-related matters. She works in both the Sebastian and Palm Bay offices, and is the managing attorney of the firm.  Ms. Hall earned her J.D. degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, where she was executive editor of the Georgetown International Law Journal.  Ms. Hall previously worked as an associate attorney at Alston & Bird in Atlanta, as an assistant legal advisor at Georgia State University, and as a law clerk at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Administrative Law Judges.  Prior to her legal career, Ms. Hall earned a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering with high honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and worked as a chemical and environmental engineer. She was formerly (but is not currently) licensed as a professional engineer (P.E.) in Virginia.

Ms. Hall is admitted to practice before the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.  She is an active member of both the Elder Law Section and the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, and is a member of the Florida Bar’s Florida Probate Rules Committee [https://www.floridabar.org/about/cmtes/cmte-cm230/], serving as Chair of one of its subcommittees.  She has served as as the Interim City Attorney for the City of Sebastian [https://www.cityofsebastian.org/].  She presently serves on the Board of Directors and as Pro Bono Coordinator for the Indian River County Bar Association, and is an active member of the Brevard County Bar Association.  In her local community, she has served as Recording Secretary and is a Past President of the GFWC Sebastian River Junior Woman’s Club, and is an active member, lector, and faith formation teacher at St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Ms. Hall was the chairperson of the 2011 American Cancer Society North Indian River County Relay for Life planning committee and has remained on the planning committee since then. Previously, Ms. Hall was on the Board of Directors of the Sebastian River Area Chamber of Commerce, and was a member of its Legislative and Government Affairs Committee; was for four years Chairperson of the Indian River County Environmental Control Hearing Board; and was formerly a member of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer planning committee in Indian River County.  She is also active at the state level in the GFWC-Florida, and is currently serving as Education Chair for Junior Clubs, and in the past was Junior District 10 Director (a region that includes Indian River County, St. Lucie County, Okeechobee County, Martin County, and Palm Beach County).  She was also a member of the 2011 class of Leadership Indian River County, and continues to assist that program as a member of the alumni advisory board.

She is available to advise clients throughout the United States on patent, trademark, and other federal law matters, and is available to speak to groups of all sizes on intellectual property, estate planning, planning for aging (at all ages), succession planning for small businesses, Florida homestead law, and other legal topics.  In partnership with the Florida Bar Elder Law Section, she is also a presenter for the Elder$mart$ (Eldersmarts) program to combat fraud against seniors and vulnerable adults, and would love the opportunity to present this or any other program to local clubs and organizations.

Kimberly A. Jones

Ms. Kimberly A. Jones is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska and attended the University of Nebraska for both her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate degrees. She has been admitted to the bar in Florida since 2006. Ms. Jones was previously an Assistant State Attorney in Indian River County for four years and in Polk County for one year. As a prosecutor, she conducted 59 jury trials and numerous motion hearings and non-jury trials. She worked as an Assistant Attorney General as a felony prosecutor and Chief of the Criminal Division in the U.S. Territory of American Samoa for one year before joining VanDeVoorde Hall Law, P.L. in 2014.

Kimberly’s practice areas include estate planning including wills, trusts and powers of attorney, estate administration (probate) and trust administration, guardianship, and real estate matters such as review and preparation of contracts, review of title issues, deeds and representing sellers or buyers in residential real estate transactions.

Kimberly is past president and secretary of the Rotary Club of Sebastian (www.sebastianrotary.com) and is currently serving as treasurer of the club.  She has volunteered with many of the various community projects through the Rotary Club of Sebastian including their Scholarship Committee, reading with kindergartners and preschoolers, the annual golf outing scholarship fundraiser and the annual ShrimpFest and Craft Beer Hullabaloo (www.shrimpfestfl.com) fundraiser for youth sports teams and organizations.

Rene' G. VanDeVoorde, Emeritus / Retired

Rene’ G. VanDeVoorde has been practicing law in Sebastian, Florida since 1974.  He received both his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Florida.  Though he has handled a wide variety of cases in his 40 years of practice, his current practice focuses on elder law planning and guardianship; wills, trusts, and estate planning and administration (probate); and real estate transactions.

Mr. VanDeVoorde is active in a number of professional and community organizations including the Exchange Club of Sebastian, the Sebastian River Historical Society, and Finance Council of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. He also served for many years on the Board of Trustees of Sebastian River Medical Center and as member of the Sebastian River Chamber of Commerce and the Sebastian Historical Society.
